Some of you know that JEMS recorded the 2001 Notre Dame webcast direct from the satellite feed. I posted that audio a couple years ago and the response seemed to be positive in that it was considered the best version yet to broadcast (oddly, a webcast-sourced version was posted to U2T a few months agone that some preferred even as the capture, by its very nature, should exist inferior. Non throwing stones, I only don't understand how a straight capture from a satellite receiver could be inferior to a webcast downstream of the same source given the state of broadband in 2001).

While we were not able to capture alive video ourselves, live video was recorded from the satellite though not of the multi-photographic camera feed. From what I was told, this was because the feeds were coming through in PAL every bit that was the video system U2 employed on the road, but the and so-chosen Bono-cam was NTSC and that feed was recorded. Now I honestly don't call up to what record format the Booncam was captured (it was well-nigh likely Betacam), but well later the fact, JEMS was able to borrow and dub those pro tapes to what was the best format we could put our easily onto on short observe, Digital 8.

This DVD is the first fourth dimension those Digital 8 tapes (iii of them) have been transferred and circulated. Our good friend KS did the authoring and the syncing to the DAT audio source. This DVD contains ii pro-shot recording broadcasts of the same source, with some differences.

One is from E! TV and has an incomplete, edited version of "Dwelling house"; information technology is missing approximately 30 seconds of the outro to the vocal. Other than that, it is a consummate recording. Information technology has amend sound than the MTV version. It is 29:01 in length. This VHS also has ii interviews with Dave and Andy approximately 17 minutes in length each. This DVD simply has Dave's interview. I of my torrents on DIME has both interviews; see below for a link. The other recording is from MTV and is a complete recording. It has worse sound than the E! version, just it is still quite expert. "Never Allow Me Down Again" ends abruptly and misses a few of Dave's parting lines (but no music), "I judge nosotros'll see you next time, thanks for coming, goodnight". Information technology is 29:37 in length. Both versions have like video quality; see sample screenshots.
